Free housing and meals
First of all we want to give the refugee families that come to Dorcas a safe place to stay - long term. So we provide a house with their own bathroom and kitchen corner for each family. It means so much after staying in camps or school gyms 40-50 people in the same room so now they can settle down and have a place on their own.
They can stay with us first for 30 day that can be prolonged with 60 days and even longer if necessary. The idea is that they would find a job in Debrecen and for the first few months they don't have to pay for rent, utility bills or food, so they can save up some money before they decide what they want to do or where they want to stay.
Food
We provide food for every refugee staying at the camping. Should they choose to cook for themselves it is also possible in their houses but they know that they don't have to worry about that.
